My Experience Using Raspberry Ketone for Weight Loss
The beginning of my journey
I first heard about Raspberry Ketones from a famous TV doctor. It was over a year ago when I first started my weight loss journey. While not taking any supplements, I recently started eating healthier and started going to the gym several times a week.
Before watching the show I never believed that any supplement could help me lose weight, I was 100% sold on the “eat healthy and exercise” way of losing weight. After watching the show and looking into the supplement a bit more I decided to give it a go, it’s cheap and I was willing to try anything (within reason) to lose weight. I knew from research that Raspberry Ketone was natural and safe, so I didn’t have much to lose (besides LB).
This single decision, accepting supplements into my weight loss mix, helped me lose 30 or more pounds without a doubt.
How does it work
Warning: Brace yourself because I may talk a little silly in the following paragraphs.
Raspberry ketone helps with weight loss by initiating lipolysis. Lipolysis is the breakdown of fat, basically Raspberry Ketone converts fat from a storage state, which is common in overweight and obese people, to a state where the body can use it for energy. Fat is a form of energy that is underutilized by those of us who lose tons of weight. This ability to jumpstart fat loss is a huge reason why the supplement is effective.
The regulation of adiponectin, which is tied to the above, is another reason raspberry ketone is useful for weight loss. Adiponectin is a hormone that has been found to be associated with obesity. High levels of adiponectin are associated with a lean body, the opposite is also true, low levels are associated with obesity. Adiponectin tricks your body into believing it is thin, so high levels of adiponectin tell your body “Hey your skinny, start acting like that” and the body responds by shedding fat. Raspberry ketone has been found to increase adiponectin levels, which in turn increases the body’s metabolism and leads to fat loss.
This concludes my description of how Raspberry Ketone works, if you are not a fan or talking nerd, you can start reading again now!
Obviously, the number one benefit of Raspberry Ketone is weight loss and specifically fat loss. Some have also found that it helps suppress appetite, causing you to eat fewer calories. I’ve never tried to follow it because I feel like it would be quite complicated. I have never noticed that I am fuller than before I started supplementing. I wonder if anyone has actually tried this on themselves.
Raspberry ketone is natural, so it is considered safe, with no known negative side effects. With that being said, there are things to look for and people who should not take the supplement. The supplement was created for adults, so it is not recommended that children or teenagers use Raspberry Ketone. You should also pay attention to the ingredients, as companies sometimes add fillers or binders or other ingredients. Sometimes these ingredients are not safe or have other side effects. I personally stick with pure Raspberry Ketone. Also, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not take the supplement, you should not take any weight loss supplements while pregnant or breastfeeding.
Since I also exercise and eat healthy every month, it’s hard to judge how much of my weight loss is from this one supplement, but I do know that my losses increased after starting the supplement. I have also tested it in several different ways, but nothing is 100% clear as to its effectiveness. My goal has always been to lose weight, so I don’t want to affect that goal by doing a proper test and potentially wasting time by not taking a supplement that is helping me. For these reasons, my results in this section will be somewhat speculative based on my limited testing and how I feel about the supplement.
I have been taking Raspberry Ketone since I first heard about it. For that reason, it’s definitely the supplement I’ve had the most success with. On average, I would say I could probably attribute 2-3 pounds of my weight loss to the Raspberry Ketone supplement. On average, I’ve lost about 6-7 pounds per month over the past year, so 2 or so pounds is a decent chunk of it.
There are tons of opinions on recommended dosages, I always go with the highest to maximize my losses. I found in my research that the optimal dose is 500 mg twice a day, so that’s what I take. I’ve also seen lower doses recommended, but since taking 1000mg a day and the very small price difference certainly doesn’t hurt, I decided on 1000mg a day.
Who should and who should not take the supplement
I’ve already touched on this briefly in the section above, but I’ll explain below.
Who should not take this supplement
- Women who are breastfeeding or pregnant
- If you are under 18
- If you are taking a medicine that you feel could be affected (talk to your doctor)
Who will benefit from this supplement
- Anyone who wants to lose weight who does not fall into the above category
*Obviously for legal reasons I should state that none of this constitutes medical advice, you should always consult your doctor if you have any concerns.
My Brand Choices
In this section, I will outline all the brands I am currently taking, as well as brands I have taken in the past, and note whether or not they were successful.
I am currently taking Ava Falco’s Raspberry Ketone Supplement. You can find a link to their Amazon.com page in the section below. You can also check out their website http://www.AvaFalco.com
