Low Carb Diets That Work For Weight Loss

A low carb diet is great for rapid weight loss. Carbohydrates. are a major contributor to weight gain. See when you have a high-carb, low-protein, low-fat diet. You may think you’re doing well because your fat intake is low.

But the twist is all those carbs. that you are taking in beyond your daily cellular needs, those carbohydrates are actually turning into fat. What I mean by this is that all the carbs you eat in a day that your body doesn’t digest will turn into fat and get stored in your body (especially your stomach).

Know that you should not go on any carb diets as this will cause extreme cravings for the foods you naturally need and eat. Remember that the body needs carbohydrates to function fully.

So I’ve put together a balance of protein, fat, and carbs that you should be eating. But first, find out how many calories are in a gram of carbohydrates, fat and protein.

1 gram of fat = 9 calories

1 gram of protein = 4 calories

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories

For example, you have 70 calories in 1 egg

4.5 grams of total fat = 39.5 calories

7 grams of protein = 21 calories

1 gram of carbohydrates = 4 calories

See how the recipe works with the eggs, if you add the total fat and protein and carbs you get 64.5 calories which is close to the 70 calories published per egg in the nutrition facts.

(Note that the total calories from protein, fat, and carbs will decrease by 5-10 of the total calories listed in the box!)

In my studies of diets and nutrition, I have found the best diets to consist of

20% fat 55% carbohydrates 25% protein

So on to the 2000 calorie diet you should have

44.4 grams of total fat per day

– try to stay away from TRANS FAT

(2000 x 20% fat / 9 calories in one gram = 44.4g fat)

275 grams of carbohydrates per day

(2000 x 55% carbs / 4 calories in one gram = 275g carbs)

100 grams of protein per day

(2000 x 25% protein / 4 calories in one gram = 100g protein)

Remember that this number will change based on the total number of calories you consume in one day!!! So solve the equation above and simply replace 2000 with the amount of total calories you want to consume and you will find out how many grams of fat, carbs and protein you should be eating…
