But don’t start with high-intensity activity. Give your body time to relax and recover, and start exercising when you’re ready. Everyone’s body is different, so what works for another person may not work for you.

One very important point to keep in mind when trying to get back in shape is how active you were during pregnancy. If you exercise regularly at that time, it will be easier and faster for you to lose excess pounds.

It is recommended to start the exercise program after six weeks if it was a normal delivery, or after eight weeks if it was a C-section. But even a day after giving birth, there are few exercises like Kegel sit-ups.

If you’re determined to lose weight after giving birth, set up an exercise routine that you can do regularly without a break, as a whim won’t help much. Do it at least 3 times a week, even for short bursts of 15 minutes.

You should consult your physician before beginning any type of exercise. Stop taking if you experience symptoms such as dizziness, shortness of breath or heart palpitations. Listen to your body.

Healthy eating and exercise are another effective way to lose weight after giving birth. Include plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean meats, grains, and more in your diet. Don’t go after those diet fads. Stay away from junk food.
