Cancerous Lung Tumour Encounter

I’m having trouble breathing. Coughing non-stop, even blood. I finally went to an emergency room at our hospital. The nurse said I should just go to my doctor. I replied that my doctor had retired and there was a 2 year waiting list for a new doctor in Muskoka. Being a Christian, I called on the Lord to help me. Wow, that’s when things started to pick up. 3 doctors, one to see the look and one for the CT scan on my chest and another to admit me.

A tumor was discovered. High blood pressure, low thyroid and low magnesium, low potassium put me on a lot of meds. Then an ambulance trip with a nurse to New Market to have a bronchoscopy by Dr Toth which also stopped the bleeding. $240. later for the ambulance ride and back to Muskoka in bed with an additional drug for an allergic reaction to the rubber used on me at New Market Hospital. Prednazone was the prescription for 10 days that caused thrush, so another magic pill to cure it.

I was in a dilemma overcome by my precious daughter-in-law and my beloved husband. I really needed a family doctor so they went to beg and convince Dr.Liao in Bracebridge for me.

This happened the week of December 13-21. After phone calls and new appointments with Dr. Liao, I had to go back to New Market for the diagnosis on December 30, 2015. A rare cancerous tumor (I can’t sir) was what they found in my right lung that was blocking an airway, causing a partial collapse of the lung. I said to Jesus. He said “Wait”! Death came near, very near.

Many visits to many hospitals and specialists and surgeons in Barrie and Toronto followed. Ultimately it was my decision. Do it or die. I was hoping that Jesus would appear and show His power to heal. I attended a few faith healing meetings where the preacher had 3 bouts of cancer and the Lord healed him of 2 of them but the third required surgery. I left knowing that the Lord had a surgeon for me.

Surgery was the only option, as chemo and radiation had no power on this tumor that had grown in my trachea and was cutting off the air in my right lung so much that the upper lobe collapsed.

On April 14, 2016, that part of the right lung was removed along with a piece of my trachea that was holding the tumor, as well as some lymph nodes.

Everything was fine and Corey, Murv my husband and Casey and Marianne saw me through it and after 3 months I can handle the pain. Many prayers from many sources were offered for me as well.

Jesus was there for me and so was my family, especially my beloved daughter-in-law Marian and my son Casey. They called every day after I got home, visited me often and gave a lot of their time and attention. I called Jesus many times from my pain. I also admired the quick responses of the many participating doctors from many countries of this old world. Different shades, languages ​​and religions, but very much in tune with my plight.

As a Christian I was tempted to resign myself to my fate and leave this life through the exit of cancer to enter a glorious place I had heard about since childhood. I thought that if God hadn’t healed me, who was I to expect the medical community to do so.

“Death was just a part of life,” my husband always said. But as I lay suffocating 24 hours a day, I realized that if it was a rotten tooth, I would have it removed. A very special young doctor in Barrie wouldn’t hear of me giving up and sent me to Toronto. The third surgeon we met at Toronto General Hospital was very persuasive and absolutely confident that he could do this procedure for me. So Dr. Cypel, true to his word, succeeded.

It’s been 9 months now since the surgery and several scans, x-rays and bronchoscopies to date. I am getting better every week with my good husband constantly supporting me. Marriage works. Prayer is the key to making it through. The appreciation for the medical staff that exists for the patients grows in us as a family.

It’s been a little over a year and a half since I left this poor volume on research hold. I have not heard of any findings until today.

Hashimoto’s thyroiditis is a new blood test that I need to see a specialist for. One of my 7 sisters has the same condition. There is a need for more thyroxine but it should be monitored by that specialist. Hopefully this will raise my energy level. Modernize; April 2018 and the specialist says there is no “standard” accepted help for Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, but the thyroxine I’m on needs to be gradually doubled. With the stripes of Jesus I am healed definitely applies here. Amen. I have released 15 pounds of fat to date. Hallelujah!

Jesus is healing me day by day and time is on my side once again. I can trust him to take care of me until my last days here. Weight gain through all of this has been a concern and as I heal more I can focus on shedding that sweet body of 77 extra pounds. A fatty liver condition will hopefully be cleared up by the PAI diet I am using. Modernize; Oct 2,2018 My weight has dropped another 10kg. and the Hashimoto’s number has dropped with prayers and medicine working together. My strength is returning as I celebrated my 70th birthday happily thankful for our Lord Jesus to help me hold on. I’m breathing at 80% again. My blood pressure is almost normal.

We have had a lot of stress these past few years with family deaths, big and small, divorces, church splits, a granddaughter working way up north in Nunavit, a forest fire on the French River near many of our families, dry wells and illness in many of our children and grandchildren. We just keep holding on to Jesus and walking daily in faith believing in a great revival in Canada. If you are going through similar things, take it one day at a time and be thankful that you will get through this together. Many are the sorrows of the righteous, but the Lord delivers us from them all. Amen!
