Earlier, when I thought of losing weight fast, I most often thought of the Jenny Craig diet or some diet pills like Proactol or Hoodia. About a year ago, I learned that there are easier, better and cheaper ways to lose weight fast.
I’m talking about a plan called a calorie shift diet. The basic approach of this diet is that food is not your enemy and eating right, normal will make you lose weight. Sounds crazy, right? It is not. In this diet, they took a well-known ancient secret and combined it with what we know today. When we eat, two hormones are released into our bodies. One hormone stores fat and the other burns fat. Of course, if we want to lose weight, we need lots of fat-burning hormones and less of those that store fat in fat cells.
Through evolution, our bodies have been taught, often harshly, how metabolism should work in order for an organism to survive (which means us). The ability to store energy for later use is a great idea, but if these reserves grow large, they pose a threat to the organism, and unfortunately, no autonomy can help us with that. Instead, we’re sick, we’re developing type 2 diabetes, and we’re heading for cardiovascular disease.
However, by making some small tweaks to our diet, we can get our bodies to use more of our stored fat while we don’t store new fat. You know, about every three months our fat reserves are completely replaced. We imagine that the fat we carry around is the same, but in reality old fat is replaced by new fat.
The small adjustments that need to be made are we eat regularly, we eat healthy foods, we switch calories at certain times to trick the metabolism into burning more fat than we store. Some people can lose up to 9 pounds every 11 days, which is amazing. However, most people lose about 5 pounds per 11-day cycle.
When I decided to lose weight, I pulled out my calendar and marked the day as day one, made a new one on day 11 and day 28. You see, you start out on this diet for 11 days, then you have three free days where you can eat almost anything, and then you go on the diet for another 11 days. By day 28, I had lost 15 lbs! I highly recommend this diet to anyone who has tried all the fad diets and failed.
