If they don’t show up, they know they will be escorted off the stage and returned to their seat. Nothing could be further from the truth. If you decide to use hypnosis audio tapes or CDs, study the script used to determine if the suggestions make sense to you. Make sure there are no negative sentences.
The mind does not hear “no or no” so the emphasis of the sentence will be: I WILL NOT eat fattening foods. This will give you the opposite of your goal. Always use sentences in a positive way. “I always eat fresh foods that make me feel strong, satisfied and healthy” is much better.
It is important to learn how you interpret sentences. If someone said, “That door should be closed,” you’d get up and close the door, or you’d just think, yeah, it should probably be closed, and you’d let someone else close it. If you got up and closed the door, it means that you “concluded” that you should close the door. Some people don’t like being told what to do (direct suggestions). You may have more success creating your own sound. You could play a relaxing sound and then read or write your sentences.
The best time for your mind to accept these positive suggestions is in the morning when you get up and at night before you go to bed. You need a quiet space where you won’t be interrupted. If you have a lot of activity in your home, you may need to find a room where you can close the door and be undisturbed. It’s only for 10 to 20 minutes.
For most people, hypnosis is not a one-time solution. The effects of hypnosis are cumulative. The more hypnosis is practiced with post-hypnotic suggestions the more permanent the results become. Very few people can be hypnotized once and stop smoking or lose weight. If they do, they usually develop another habit to replace the one they just stopped. Many people who quit smoking begin to overeat. They simply replaced one unwanted habit with another. If you found the root of the problem, you wouldn’t need to replace another habit.
