Are you a woman over 40? Do you want to lose weight permanently? When working with my clients, I see the same 3 mistakes over and over again…they can sabotage your weight loss efforts. Read on to learn how to avoid these mistakes and lose weight permanently for women over 40.

Most women over 40 are pretty savvy when it comes to evaluating calories from solid foods. But for beverages, the situation is often different. Sugar-sweetened sodas are loaded with empty calories — and the “diet” variety doesn’t help either. In fact, consumption of diet soda and obesity are statistically related. Sugar is often hidden in coffee drinks—a latte at a coffee shop tastes good, and it might contain more sugar than you think. Of course, the real calorie boosters are creams with saturated fat. Fruit juices are often sweetened too – as if fructose alone wasn’t enough.
When it comes to solid foods, the mistake of denying favorite foods is often made.
Many dieters completely deny their favorite foods. But – usually this doesn’t work for long. Psychological research shows: Just try not to think about something, and it will come to mind. A better way to deal with favorite foods is to plan to eat them occasionally. If you do something special, you can reward yourself with them as a reward. However, make sure you’re not exceeding your daily calorie limit—some dieters can’t stop after they start eating their favorite foods. If this is the case for you, I recommend packing your portions ahead of time and storing them where they are not easily accessible. Take out one at a time.
Another form of refusing to eat is the third mistake: skipping meals.
Especially skipping breakfast is popular – but it doesn’t help. You need to jump-start your metabolism in the morning, so eat a small, healthy breakfast.
