Healthrider R60 Treadmill Review
For the casual user, the HealthRiderR60 treadmill has absolutely no shortage of standard equipment or feature items a consumer might want. Most in the field agree that at least for the money, the R60 is still a mid-range machine.
While the I-fit system and extra-large walking surface are plus points and definitely not standard, there are still boring standard features like fans, speakers, and heart monitors. The only thing you can look forward to now is on the treadmill.

Many consumers in the fitness field have heard of the I-fit system by now. Using I-fit.com and the device at hand, consumers can develop a personalized weight loss plan to achieve better body shape. This is a professionally proven and developed program – talk about bonuses!
To access the I-fit program, consumers can use one of two methods – purchase the optional CD or use an Internet connection. The I-fit program has gone into great detail to provide consumers with such a workout, and it also follows professional guidelines.
Using the speakers, consumers can receive audio encouragement while using the I-fit program. As an added bonus, there is a cushioning system that has gotten better over the years. Users will now also find much less impact on their knees and joints.
Big machine, big value?
Who doesn’t love a large running surface? I know I know. That’s one thing the R60 does have – a 60″x20″ area. A running zone of this size also has the added benefit of being older consumers, who may be unsure of themselves or just want to walk, can do so with confidence.
Also, other consumers who are less durable and want more confidence can gain by using this larger area.
For consumers who want, or even need, value, the I-fit system built into the HealthRiderR60 provides just that. Striving to achieve fitness goals is something all consumers want to do and still keep exercising.
Availability of the I-fit system on all HealthRider systems is found on all latest models. Because of this availability, the brand has its own personal publicity.
Even if consumers don’t use the I-fit system, they can still use many other programs – distance, heart rate, fat burning and timed workouts. Even though these programs are just normal programs, consumers are still able to perform functions other than an I-fit system or plain old manual setup.
However, the HealthRiderR60’s big running surface has a downside – it doesn’t have a big motor to go with it! Belts measuring 60″x 20″ should have a larger motor than the 2.0 CHP motor that comes with this treadmill. For consumers looking to do some serious stuff with the R60, that’s out of the question.
Another downside is the warranty. For the $1,500 price point, the warranty offered by the HealthRider is definitely not what consumers expect. As a result, they looked elsewhere—especially higher-end machines.
Another downside to the HealthRiderR60 is the console—it’s seriously outdated. Who wants to buy a machine that looks like it’s from the 1980s? not me. Considering the I-fit system is on the machine, it seems like a simple enough concept that updating the console would have been a no-brainer for a machine at this price point.
Good for walking, forget about serious running
Aside from the great features this machine does have, this machine does feel a little boring. Yes, it’s fine to keep walking. If you are content with less than 10% slopes and large belts, then this machine is for you.
However, this machine isn’t for consumers looking for some serious running at high speeds – the motor won’t handle it and will be smooth.
Still, I would recommend the HealthRider R60 to anyone who wants a mid-priced machine and wants to use the I-fit system.
