Should You Purchase a New or Used Exercise Rebounder?
as a rebound Enthusiasts, I’m always checking out the great deals on the market right now sports rebound Also known as mini trampolines, and updates to these products with the latest improvements as the technology used in these products gets better.
In my research, I found some questionable previously owned sports backboards for sale online. Some of the information provided to unsuspecting potential customers was incorrect.
One thing everyone should know is Warranty。 No matter what brand you buy, the warranty only applies to new sports backboards. Manufacturers will not provide a warranty (such as a lifetime or 5-year warranty) on their device if you are not the original owner. So if you see someone stating that you bought a used product with a warranty, the seller either doesn’t know what the warranty is like, or they’re counting on the fact that you don’t know, and using that as a selling point.
If you are not the original owner, you will be responsible for the entire cost of any repairs that need to be made to the unit in the future. This is very important. Sadly, when you first need to replace the springs of your sports backboard, the $100 you originally saved by buying used instead of new will be completely wiped out.In case you didn’t realize, if you purchased a spring spring or something like Bellicon or Nidak You’ll be jumping around on it often, if not every day.
Recently, I came across a rare listing on eBay Used half off Cellerciser® with Stabilizer at a price well below the cost of a new Stabilizer. The pictures of the item look good – in fact, it looks too good to be true. I realized it was a picture of a brand new Tri-Fold Cellerciser® found on the manufacturer’s website with the stabilizer bar attached for display. This is not at all a picture of a used item for sale on eBay. With three days left in the auction, I struggled to reach eBay customer support on the phone and explained the situation to the representative who answered the phone. He said he saw a photo of the new Tri-Fold on the Cellerciser® website and told me he would file a report with eBay’s Trust and Safety department to have the photo removed. Has eBay ever deleted photos? No they didn’t, some unsuspecting eBay member bought a used backboard off a brand new photo that wasn’t even the model number of the product being sold. By the way, the listing doesn’t even state the year the product was manufactured, so this used Cellerciser® is probably 10 years old.
With that in mind, here are some tips to help avoid problems with used sports rebounders:
1. Only consider buying used if you can try the product yourself.
2. Find out the year (and month, if possible) when the equipment was first purchased.
3. Determine from the original owner how often the product is used (daily, weekly, infrequently or rarely). If the unit is used a lot, the springs may need to be replaced in the near future, depending on the brand you plan to buy.
4. Ask the seller when to take pictures of the item being sold.
5. If you are considering buying a used sports rebounder online from sites like eBay or Amazon, calculate in advance how much it will cost to ship the unit back to the seller if the product is not what you thought it would be. Even if the seller has misrepresented the item, you are only covered by the buyer protection policies of these sites for the original price and shipping costs incurred when you received the item. As a buyer, you will be responsible for the cost of shipping the product back to the seller, which can range from $40 to $100 using UPS Ground or USPS Select Parcel.
6. When buying online, try to buy new rather than used. If your finances are tight, consider using PayPal’s financing program called Bill Me Later® to spread the cost of purchasing a brand new sports backboard over a six-month period.
Rebounding is a great exercise, and you can experience a ton of health and fitness benefits. Making a sensible purchase and avoiding pitfalls when considering new or used sports rebounders will allow you to enjoy rebound sports even more.
