Vitamin deficiencies: Excessive hair loss can also be caused by folic acid and vitamin B12 deficiencies.

DHEA: Many women over the age of 50 find that when they increase their DHEA levels into the normal range for a 30- or 40-year-old woman, it not only slows or stops hair loss, but actually helps regrow new hair. Significant diffuse thinning in women usually begins after menopause, when production of the female hormone estrogen dramatically slows or ceases altogether.

Stress: Stress can worsen dandruff. It can trigger it or exacerbate an already bad situation. 5 minutes of daily meditation can do wonders for your overall health and hair.

Asian recipes for beautiful hair: This is a routine used by many Indian women for lustrous and healthy hair. Mix 25% castor oil with 75% almond oil and massage gently into the scalp for 10 minutes a week. It should be warmed first (put the container in hot water for 5 minutes) so that it can be easily absorbed by the scalp. Leave on scalp for 15 to 30 minutes, then wash with a mild natural shampoo. Finish with a vinegar and warm water solution (5% vinegar, 95% water) rinse, then seal the hair and rinse with cold water to remove the vinegar smell. Towel dry. Look in the mirror. You’ll love your beautiful, shiny, manageable hair.
